French artist Paul Cézanne was a talented master with an amazing work ethic and a complex character. Artist Camille Pissarro would say about his friend that he would revolutionize painting. Cézanne's work indeed did not fit within the confines of one artistic direction. His works are unique, but recognition for Paul Cézanne would only come at the end of his life.
