Gustave Caillebotte. Masterpieces of Impressionism

The paintings of the remarkable artist Gustave Caillebotte, a close friend of the Impressionists and perhaps their main organizer of exhibitions, were said to have stood somewhat apart from the main direction of their creativity. The brilliant works of his comrades pleased him, influenced his creativity. However, he painted his works, as was said about him, "in the realistic style of J.-F. Millet or G. Courbet." Caillebotte's works hinted at the artist's familiarity with Japanese engravings.
