Daughter of Agamemnon. Successor

In the novel «Daughter of Agamemnon» (1985), the story is narrated from the perspective of a young man — the beloved of the daughter of a party official, appointed as the successor to the country's leader. The girl's personal life turns out to be sacrificed to her father's political ambitions. During the years of dictatorship, the publication of this text in Albania was impossible; even for the manuscript, the author could end up in prison. To save the novel, it was secretly taken abroad and kept in a bank safe in Paris. The book was published only after political changes in the country.

In the second novel, «Successor» (2003), the author addresses real events — the mysterious death of the second person in the party hierarchy, declared the heir of the dictator Enver Hoxha. The circumstances of this suicide (or murder) are surrounded by numerous versions — from rational to mystical — and form a multifaceted narrative about power, the force of fear, and human nature.
