Two Thousand Years Together

The book by scientist, specialist in contemporary issues of Judaism and interfaith dialogue, and author of many books Pinchas Polonsky examines both past and possible future relations between Judaism and Christianity, analyzes similarities and differences, as well as illusory differences created by established prejudices that create a false picture. The current state of Judeo-Christian dialogue and ideas for its development are discussed. From the author's perspective, the main point for overcoming mutual misunderstanding is to realize that while Judaism and Christianity are incompatible and the Jewish people did not and will not become Christian, these two religions historically complement each other. From a Jewish point of view, the rejection of the incarnation of Jesus does not deny the fact that Providence has assigned him the mission to become that "divine instrument" through which a vast portion of humanity came to the Almighty, and in this, there is a significant merit of Christianity.
