Spherical Art. The Science of Seeing

The book of artistic and journalistic compositions by one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian avant-garde, the creator of a system for perceiving nature – the 'science of seeing', which includes a completely original method of transforming space when conveying it on planes (spherical perspective) and a peculiar color palette, K.S. Petrov-Vodkin includes his texts dedicated to the stages of the artist's development, describing the features of his artistic method. Special attention is given to the pages dedicated to the theoretical justification of significant patterns of perception and transmission in painting and drawing of space, color, and line, based on which the artist created his works.
