Indian Book of the Dead

"Garuda Purana" is one of the main works of ancient Indian literature and one of the most important sacred texts of Hinduism. The fragment included in this edition is its second part - "Indian Book of the Dead" ("Preta Kanda"), dedicated to the theme of death, the fate of the human soul after leaving life, the afterlife, and posthumous rituals.
In this edition, "Preta Kanda" is presented in translation and with comments by the oriental scholar, candidate of historical sciences Elena Tyulina, who has made the book accessible to a wide range of readers.
