Twenty years have passed since the Meiji Revolution thundered, and all power in Japan has concentrated in the hands of the emperor. The former state, which revered the country's traditions, has given way to a modernized, future-oriented government. The shoguns and samurais are becoming a thing of the past, replaced by a new elite – bankers and capitalists.
