foot - to Jerusalem. For a pilgrim of Tsarist Russia, this journey was not unusual. But in 1990, pilgrimage from Russia to Israel for an ordinary soul was impossible: diplomatic relations between Israel and our country did not yet exist. Natalia Sukhina was then working at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union newspaper "Socialist Industry". And so a section called "The Road to the Temple" appeared in the party's printed organ. During her journey, she sent travel essays to the newspaper that were read by the entire country, and people responded with millions of letters. The foundation of the book "The Road that Became Destiny" consists of travel notes written during her pilgrimage to Jerusalem and essays about the Holy Land, written by the author later.
