Masterpieces of Art Nouveau

The author - Natalia Kourtunova – an art historian, senior researcher at the department of art from Europe and America of the 19th-20th centuries of the A.S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, author of lecture courses on the history of Western European art and the history of sculpture, author of several books: "How to Read and Understand Painting", "Signs, Symbols, and Allegories in Art". Natalia Kourtunova is the curator of several exhibitions at the Pushkin Museum, co-curator of exhibition projects at the Pushkin Museum – "Vim Delvaux. Mimicry" (2014), "Alexander Calder. Retrospective" (2015), "The Congo River. Art of Central Africa" (2016). Expert of the project "ModernArt&Development".



Art Nouveau is an original, mysterious, and at times openly sensual style that dominated visual art at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This artistic phenomenon is associated with many famous architects, painters, graphic artists, and applied arts masters, but perhaps the most prominent and significant names are those of Antonio Gaudí, Gustav Klimt, and Alphonse Mucha. This book is dedicated to these three authors, not limited, however, to their creative heritage within the mentioned style, but allowing a view of the gradual development of each master from their earliest works to mature creations.
