Two hundred years ago, Britain lost a war with Napoleon and, along with the rest of conquered Europe, became part of the French Empire. Only recently, after a long campaign of civil disobedience, the country regained its independence – thus... the British Socialist Republic was born. Now London is connected to the continent by the Channel Railway Bridge; a short train journey and you are already in Paris, the largest and most dazzling city in the world, also known as Granville («the great city»). And now from Granville to London are heading the emissaries of «Napoleon of the criminal world,» the mysterious Tiberius König; having subdued all the Parisian gangs and built an empire of violence and corruption, he now sets his sights on London. The only one capable of standing in his way is the protégé of the legendary Stamford Hawksmoor, Detective Inspector LeBrock of Scotland Yard, known for his truly badger-like tenacity. After all, LeBrock is none other than a badger, and the world of «Granville» is predominantly populated by anthropomorphic animals, while humans («headless ones») serve in the dirtiest jobs and are deprived of civil rights…
