Interpretive Psalter

«Search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and they are they which testify of Me», - said the Savior Christ (John 5:39). One of the outstanding researchers was Alexander Pavlovich Lopukhin. His «Interpretive Bible» - a multi-volume edition - has been enlightening and guiding Orthodox Christians in the Word of God for over a century. On the book market, one can only find reprint copies with old spelling. To make the text understandable to the majority of readers, our publishing house "Blagovest" decided to release a new biblical series, prepared based on the timeless work of A.P. Lopukhin. The first volume in this series is the "Interpretive Psalter".

The text of the book is set according to the rules of modern spelling. The structure of the «Interpretive Psalter» is as follows: first - the full text of the psalm; then the circumstances under which it was written are revealed, the historical context of its creation is explained in detail, and a brief artistic and theological analysis of its text is provided; and finally - the comments of A. P. Lopukhin on each or several verses.
The book is aimed at a wide audience and has great educational significance.
