This book is a tale of mine warfare at sea – the least known aspect of World War II. The author truthfully narrates the harsh daily life of minesweeper and blockade runner sailors. Very few knew or spoke about their daily feats and the difficult path to victory. Crews of small ships had to fight in dangerous waters, in bad weather, under continuous attacks from the enemy. These people modestly did their job, expecting neither glory nor honors.
