Don Quixote

Having read a lot of chivalric romances and being slightly fatigued from insufficient time spent outdoors, a bankrupt nobleman at the twilight of his life decides to become a wandering knight and repeat the feats of his favorite literary heroes.... Acquiring rusty armor and saddling a lame horse, the hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha, accompanied by his loyal squire Sancho Panza, sets off on his journey. But reality differs from his fantasies, and the Knight of the Woeful Countenance, as his squire dubbed him, repeatedly finds himself in absurd situations: he challenges a flock of sheep, frees captured robbers, and suffers defeat in combat against windmills.
Originally conceived as a parody of chivalric romances, "Don Quixote" has been translated into all major languages of the world and included in the "World Library" as the "best book of all time and peoples."
