Cafe Bars is a light family strategic board game where players take on the role of capybaras opening cozy cafes. During the game, you create a menu, decorate the interior, acquire decor, upgrade the kitchen, attract new guests, and try to turn them into regular customers.
Each cafe is a unique combination of dish, drink, and object cards. Visitors come with their requirements, and if your cafe meets their demands, they bring in money, give bonuses, and may become "regulars," earning victory points at the end of the game.
The theme is light, cute, and friendly, but the internal mechanics offer strategic choices and variability in gameplay.
At the beginning of their turn, a player chooses one card from their hand.
There are two ways to play a card:
1. Add it to your cafe as a dish, drink, decor, or functional element.
2. Play the card as a guest to be served.
Cards placed in the cafe form a set of symbols needed to meet the guests' requirements.
If a visitor has enough symbols, they bring coins. If all requirements are met, they become a regular customer and give points at the end of the game.
In the game, it's important to find a balance between developing the cafe (long-term strategy) and serving guests (quick profit).
The player with the most victory points from coins, regulars, and the unique characteristics of their cafe wins.
