Korean Folk Tales

Folk tales are close and understandable not only to children but also to adults; they teach kindness and justice, honesty and loyalty, love and friendship, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial, when elders told legends about the king of beasts, the wise tiger, wonders and wizards, the spirits of deceased ancestors, and all-powerful heroes. Korean tales are a priceless monument of the spiritual and poetic culture of the people and are considered an inexhaustible source for studying the everyday life, morals, traditions, and customs of the country.
