Sometimes they do not agree with each other: time accumulates, taking hold of us, while age, like sand slipping through fingers, sometimes just disappears.
The first poems — they are collected at the very end of the book — were written by the author at the age of 14 (or maybe plus or minus a year); the last ones — at 74, a year before his anniversary. But the very "anniversary" is abolished.
