Pushkin did not witness the flood of 1824 - at that time he was in exile in Mikhailovskoye - but from the accounts of eyewitnesses, he managed to create one of the darkest poems about a man crushed by nature and authority. The poet himself never saw the first publication - the emperor allowed only an excerpt to be printed, considering the text too dangerous.

Evgeny dreams of quiet happiness with his beloved. But in one night, everything collapses - Saint Petersburg is submerged. Evgeny loses everything and unwittingly challenges the Bronze Horseman himself - a symbol of ruthless power.
