Modern foreign researchers account for at least 150 examples of armed rebellions initiated by the USA in Latin America alone in the second half of the 20th century. This allows for the assertion that intervention in the affairs of foreign states is one of the relevant instruments of the foreign policy of the United States. This intervention takes different forms depending on the objectives. When considering the toolkit, over the years of the Cold War, a hybrid approach has developed, combining measures of informational, propaganda, economic, and political pressure, up to and including the support of armed anti-government opposition. Based on a country study analysis ("case study"), the authors of the book analyze the prerequisites for U.S. intervention in the affairs of foreign states (so-called color revolutions) during the Cold War period, as well as the main tools of such influence.
