The Forgotten Language

Dreams are a special, incorporeal form of our existence. How many times, upon waking, have we tried to decipher a dream we had, and how many times have we tried to forget it, frightened by a nightmare? Freud, Jung, and many other psychoanalysts dedicated serious scientific works to dreams. Erich Fromm, one of the greatest "philosophers of psychology," proposes his own, completely original theory of dreams and methods of interpretation. According to his theory, dreams are a peculiar "memory of ancestors," a universal language of symbols that has been preserved in our memory since ancient times, a language common to all cultures and peoples throughout the history of humanity, which, if studied, can help us understand ourselves and each other more deeply.
