House on the Line of Fire. A Chronicle of the Russian Invasion in Donbass

Born in Kramatorsk and educated as a medic, Dmitry Durneiv combined hospital work with journalism in the late 1990s and became one of the most renowned authors in his native Donbass by the early 2000s. The book provides a complete and vivid picture of life in Donbass in the 21st century: clan wars and property division, economic boom and political division, and after 2014—dual power, the puppet regime of the "DNR" with its mundane absurdities and terrible repressions, and finally, the occupation and complete destruction of the region by Russian troops.
