Russian Impressionists

In 1903, Moscow painters and representatives of the Petersburg "World of Art" united into the Union of Russian Artists. Among the members of this union were many so-called Russian Impressionists—painters who combined the traditions of domestic psychological realism and a... unique worldview with their own artistic language that emerged in French art in the 1860s–1870s. The merging of these two artistic elements stirred a vibrant, unique phenomenon of Russian Impressionism with its smart, soulful aesthetics, which managed to touch the most hidden strings of the soul of nature and man.

The book traces the fates of the first Russian Impressionists, who celebrated the bright joy of existence and gifted art lovers the happiness of encountering the beautiful. Many difficulties and troubles befell these artists, but despite the circumstances, through their creativity, they continued to acknowledge life in love.
