September 1939: the commander of the ship Admiral Graf Spee receives orders to sink as many British cargo ships as possible in the South Atlantic. The goal is to intercept vessels crossing the Atlantic and disrupt supplies to Great Britain...
and other destinations.
In the first months, the plan seems to work: within a few weeks, the "Admiral Graf Spee" sinks 9 cargo ships and sends nearly 50,000 gross tons to the ocean floor. The enormous losses put pressure on the army command in London’s Whitehall. To best protect its cargo ships, the Admiralty had no choice but to reinforce the English fleet in the South Atlantic by sending three cruisers to the so-called "Battle of the River Plate".
Game objective: The Hunt is an asymmetric duel in which one player will take command of the British Royal Navy, while the other player will represent the German Kriegsmarine. Each player will have their own deck of cards. To win, the German side must remain hidden from the British while trying to sink five cargo ships.
Instead, the player leading the British must track and engage the "Admiral Graf Spee" in a final naval battle, where the side that takes less damage will win. Will the Royal Navy be able to take advantage of its numerical superiority, or will the Kriegsmarine, through its cunning and refined strategy, manage to overthrow its opponent?
