Ethics

«Ethics» by K.S. Stanislavsky is a book about the moral foundations of acting. He devoted his entire life to questions of ethics and discipline, intending to write a separate book on this topic, but he did not have time. However,... he left behind many materials on this subject, the most well-known of which are «Ethics», «Ethics and Discipline», «From Notes on Artistic Ethics» and others. All of them make up this book. K. Stanislavsky's ideas are still relevant for modern theater and help create performances that deeply touch and inspire audiences. Honesty and sincerity in acting open the way to a truthful embodiment of characters. Mutual respect and trust among the participants create the foundation for fruitful rehearsals and successful performances. Responsibility towards the audience prompts reflection on the social significance of art. Following K. Stanislavsky's system, theaters can maintain high standards and find new forms of expression that are relevant to society.
