The Storyteller

The essay "The Storyteller" represents the final exposition of the epic concept that Walter Benjamin developed from the late 1920s. It is followed by essays, notes, and reviews written between 1929 and 1933; these reflect various approaches to this concept. The book concludes with a selection of rough sketches for a theory of narration, dating from 1928 to 1935, and a postscript by the translator "Story as a Form of History".
