«Such a Diverse Country» — is a unique photo project by Alexander Mazurov, gathered as a result of travels through various corners of the largest country in the world, where behind every landscape stands a living person.

The author traveled through ten regions — from Kamchatka to Chukotka, from Yamal to Dagestan — to see how in the diversity of cultures, landscapes, and characters arises the image of modern Russia.

• Why are there more verbs than nouns in the languages of nomadic peoples?

This book — ten journeys across such different regions of the country: from the shores of Kamchatka to the mountains of Dagestan, from the distant Chukotka to the mysterious Kuril Islands. The author talks to reindeer herders in Yamal, looks into the eyes of Dagestani shepherds, learns the basics of icon painting in Veliky Novgorod, and meets sunrises on the Yenisei.
