Parts of Speech. New Stanzas to Augustus

The collection "Parts of Speech," first published by the American publisher "Ardis" in 1977, consists of poems written between 1972 and 1976 — in the last months of the poet's life in his homeland and the first years in emigration.... It includes works such as "From Nowhere with Love, the Eleventh of March," "Twenty Sonnets to Mary Stuart," "Letters to a Roman Friend," and "Encounter."
The published collection "New Stanzas to Augustus," released in 1983, contains poems written between 1962 and 1982.
The author later referred to this collection as "the main work of his life" — "in a way, a poetic book with its own plot," which "can be read as a separate work."
It includes "Anno Domini," "Riddle to an Angel," "Winter Post," "Lullaby of the Cod Cape," "A Slice of the Honeymoon," "I Embraced These Shoulders and Looked," and other works.
