Niki Jumpei, a modest amateur entomologist, wanted to spend three days on the coast for vacation and add to his collection of beetles and butterflies. Instead, he found himself trapped - in a pit among boundless sands, in a house... built on sand. A woman lives here, fighting day and night against this relentless sand that threatens to bury the house. This sand is like death itself, like despair itself, it erases all hope to dust, but demands a daily battle against oneself. And in its depths lies life-water...
