Menakhem-Mendel. New Letters

«Menakhem-Mendel. New Letters» - an unexpected continuation of the epistolary tale «Menakhem-Mendel», one of the most famous works of Sholem-Aleichem (1859-1916). In 1913, Sholem-Aleichem writes a column of political feuilletons for the Warsaw newspaper «Geynt». His feuilletons are written in the form of correspondence between Menakhem-Mendel and his grumpy wife Sheyna-Sheindl.

Sheyna-Sheindl continues to live in the patriarchal Kasrilovka, while her restless husband becomes a journalist in Warsaw. In their correspondence, they share impressions about politics, diplomacy, the condition of Jews, and everything happening in the Jewish world and the broader world.
