At the Gates of Time. New Year Sermons

The New Year, «civil new year», is not often the subject of attention from church preachers. Although the tradition to serve a moleben before the beginning of the new year (and sometimes even a midnight liturgy) can be regarded as well-established, the reflection on the entrance into a new year of life as a religious event occurs quite rarely. This gives us an extra reason to delve into the words with which Metropolitan Anthony welcomed his parish .

In this collection are gathered New Year sermons, pronounced by Bishop Anthony over the years of his service in the English parish. With all the strength of his preaching gift Bishop Anthony persuades us, that every new year we are able to make in our lives «belonging to the Kingdom of the Lord», if we enter into it with faith and gratitude, entrusting ourselves and our loved ones into the merciful hands of God.
