Diary of a Genius

«Diary of a Genius» (fr. «Journal d’un genie») — a unique memoir by Salvador Dalí, written by the artist between 1952 and 1963 and published in Paris in 1964. By this time, Dalí is already world-famous, and his new book... is both a creative manifesto and an attempt to explain or even justify in the eyes of the public the cultivated image of the «true genius of modernity», who had the misfortune to be born in the «age of almost dwarfs». The full text of the diary is enriched with marginal appendices provided by the author for the first edition: «The Science of Farting», «In Praise of the Fly», «Dalí's Mysticism...», as well as a comparative table of the merits of artists from the past and future. The book includes an updated insert with black-and-white photographs.
