On Sharp Stones. New Recruits of the Cold War

In the novel «On Sharp Stones», the plot revolves around a mysterious woman holding a high position in the ranks of the banned terrorist organization ISIS in Russia. This woman, who helps militants illegally cross state borders, is being sought by Colonel Pyotr Goryunov, who heads the Middle Eastern direction in the FSB of Russia's Department for Combating Terrorism. After long and painstaking searches, Goryunov manages to track down the stranger and learn her name—Dzhannat. The colonel convinces her to become an agent and work for the Russian special services. It seems like a very successful recruitment. But Goryunov does not yet know how much trouble this will entail.
The main character of the novel «New Recruits of the Cold War» is the son of Colonel Pyotr Goryunov—Mansur, who is drawn to work in the illegal intelligence service of the SVR of Russia. The boy was brought from Turkey as a teenager, and of course, it piqued the interest of the special department where Goryunov had worked for many years. Mansur speaks Turkish and Kurmanji, so he can adapt well in the Kurdish environment of the PKK. That is why Mansur, despite his father's protests, is being prepared for work at a young age and is already sent to Iraqi Kurdistan at just twenty. The path lies through Turkey, where Mansur, while working on his main assignment, accidentally learns that there is some person in Moscow connected to the CIA.
