A large-scale family saga about the Florios, whose story spans over 150 years and is intertwined with the rises and falls of Sicily.
Starting with spice trading in a small shop, the Florios establish their empire. They own wineries, steamships, tuna... fishing operations, houses, jewelry, and cars. But it is not enough to reach the top; one must also maintain the position. Ignazio tries to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers, but he is more tempted by noisy parties, socializing with friends, and women, many women. He showers his wife with expensive jewelry after each affair, makes one mistake after another in business, and at first fails to notice how pieces begin to break off from the once-powerful empire…
This is a continuation of the novel "Lions of Sicily. The Saga of the Florios," but thanks to the author's presentation, the second part can be perceived as an independent work.
