In her autobiographical story "Childhood Memories," Sofia Kovalevskaya recounts her childhood and her first acquaintance with mathematics, life in her parental home, and meetings with F. M. Dostoevsky, as well as the everyday life and morals of a noble family. A peculiar continuation of "Memoirs" is the story "The Nihilist" about the struggle for women's rights, which became a genuine historical monument of its time. The collection also includes the story "The Nihilist."
