"What a delight these fairy tales are! Each one is a poem!" - wrote A. S. Pushkin. The poet was captivated by the folk creative imagination, fantasy, artistic figurative thinking, and the essence of language. Pushkin did not simply convert...
Russian fairy tales into poetry, but, as a folk storyteller, changed the plot, used elements from other genres, such as songs, laments, spells, and even details from foreign folklore. In "Fairy Tales," Pushkin experimented with form but always aimed for one goal - to show the beauty of the Russian language, and through it, the Russian soul. This goal is aided by the illustrations of Vyacheslav Nazaruk in a fairy-tale "Russian style".
By addressing not only folklore but also the traditions of domestic illustration, the artist created multilayered, complex drawings in color and ornamentation.
