Balbuzar

The famous pirate Balbuzar rules the Sarbakano Sea unopposed. He attacks ships, sinks them, and takes the precious cargo for himself. Balbuzar is wild, cruel, fearsome, but at the same time kind and just in his own way. He lives... in harmony with the sea, islands, reefs, the wind… Birds always flutter around him. Men, women, children—all love Balbuzar. After all, he is as free as air.

However, Empress Pepita the Thirteenth is not at all pleased with the lawlessness that the desperate pirate wreaks in her domains. She sends an armada against him under the command of her best captain nicknamed Commodore. He is arrogant and ruthless. He embodies law, power, and order.

Commodore and Balbuzar engage in a battle. Two outstanding sailors, two experienced warriors. And war begins—a fierce, but unequal one, as Commodore is backed by an army and the full might of the Empire. By his order, a colossal ship is being built that will undoubtedly destroy the fleet under the black flag. Is Balbuzar's fate predetermined? Or will the cunning pirate find a way to defeat the monstrous foe?

«Balbuzar» is the story of the confrontation between two worlds. Power and law against the sea and freedom. In the text by Gérard Moncomble, humor, poetry, and adventure are skillfully combined, and the magnificent illustrations by Frédéric Piyot give us the opportunity to see this thrilling story with our own eyes.
