Initial D is a Japanese manga and anime series about the world of street racing, created by Shuichi Shigeno. The manga was published from 1995 to 2013, and several seasons of anime, feature films, and games have been made based on it.
The plot revolves around high school student Takumi Fujiwara, who delivers tofu every morning in an old Toyota AE86 along the mountain roads of Gumma Prefecture. Unbeknownst to himself, he becomes a virtuoso driver and attracts the attention of street racers. Starting with battles at Akina Pass, Takumi gradually gets pulled into the world of illegal racing in Japan.
