The plot revolves around high school student Takumi Fujiwara, who delivers tofu every morning in an old Toyota AE86 along the mountain roads of Gumma Prefecture. Unbeknownst to himself, he becomes a virtuoso driver and attracts the attention of street racers. Starting with battles at Akina Pass, Takumi gradually gets pulled into the world of illegal racing in Japan.
