The Thunderstorm

Storm clouds gather over the swiftly flowing Volga. Savage gusts of wind blow small birds off their path to shelter. Thus, Katya - a young, kind, caring girl - after marrying the man pressured by his own mother, is forced to endure the cruel nature of this woman. Day by day, the atmosphere in their home becomes increasingly oppressive. In despair, Katya tries to find a single ray of happiness for herself, but where will it lead her?

Aleksandr Nikolayevich Ostrovsky wrote "The Thunderstorm" after his journey along the Volga. He was inspired by the people and their stories and gave it all a literary form. And now, through time, we can immerse ourselves in the depth of the whirlpool to which Katya surrendered.
