Mindhunter. FBI's Special Unit for Serial Murder Investigations

The legendary FBI profiler John Douglas, who inspired the character of Jack Crawford in «The Silence of the Lambs», unveils the secrets of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. Douglas was the first to engage in conversations with serial killers—to understand their motives, habits, and weaknesses—and thus laid the groundwork for criminal profiling. This knowledge allowed him to track down the most dangerous maniacs, including the Alaskan prostitute killer, the child murderer in Atlanta, and the Green River killer, predicting their next moves. Analyzing the cases of Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and Edmund Kemper, Douglas demonstrates how profiling helps penetrate the mind of a criminal. With harrowing detail, the legendary «mindhunter» takes us behind the scenes of some of his most eerie, captivating, and complex cases—and into the darkest corners of our worst nightmares.
