Dante Alighieri

The figure of Dante is shrouded in an aura of mystique, and his "Divine Comedy" continuously stirs the minds. Modern writers, filmmakers, and even video game developers are particularly inspired by the theme of hell. This is not surprising: the... great poet imprisoned his enemies there, describing the true circumstances of their deaths. Describing… or perhaps, anticipating or even creating? After all, the time of the drafts of "The Comedy" is unknown to anyone. However, documents from a 14th-century trial have survived, where the accused claimed that he had used the services of the greatest magician in Italy - Master Alighieri. Dante had connections with the mysterious and sinister Order of the Templars. And the residents of Verona seemingly clearly saw the marks of hellish flames on the poet's face. But this is only one side of the genius's personality. The other is filled with the light of an ethereal feeling for Beatrice - a childhood friend who died young. This love leads the poet out of the darkness of the underworld, through the hardships of purgatory to the heavenly abode of paradise.
