For a long time, researchers unjustly considered the first Roman king to be a fictional hero. Thanks to new data obtained by Italian scientists as a result of archaeological excavations in the center of Rome at the turn of the 20th-21st centuries, it has become clear that the testimonies of ancient authors about the founder of the Eternal City contain reliable information and therefore there is no longer any doubt that Romulus is a historical figure.
