«Genius names an era...» — noted M. I. Tsvetaeva. It can be said that the entire 19th century passed under the sign of A. S. Pushkin. But even today, in the 21st century, the genius Pushkin's lines, repeated thousands of times in school textbooks and anthologies, have not lost their value: like everything connected to eternity, they bring joy, inspire hope, and provide comfort.
This edition includes the most famous works of A. S. Pushkin, which have entered the treasury of world literature and reflect various facets of his creative gift. It features poems from different years (from the first lyceum experiments to late philosophical lyrics), the novel «Eugene Onegin», the play «Boris Godunov», the poem «The Bronze Horseman», as well as prose works — «The Queen of Spades» and «The Captain's Daughter».
The book includes illustrations by Russian artists of the 19th to early 20th century, masters of book graphics — V. E. Makovsky, V. M. Vasnetsov, V. V. Spassky, and others, as well as cycles of illustrations by P. P. Sokolov for «The Captain's Daughter» and V. V. Helmers for «Eugene Onegin».
