Ethics

Benedict Spinoza is one of the greatest rationalist philosophers. His works mark an epoch in the history of European thought, and their study has become a necessary part of all philosophy courses.

A characteristic feature of Spinoza's treatises is the strict sequence of thought and clear organization of the text. Spinoza's ideas, especially his central work, "Ethics," had a powerful impact on the culture of the 17th-19th centuries: Spinoza was loved, read, interpreted, and debated not only by philosophers such as Berkeley, Hume, Schelling, and Hegel, but also by great scientists, Enlightenment thinkers, and poets—Diderot, Herder, Goethe.
