Princess Olga Paley, the morganatic wife of Grand Duke Pavel Alexandrovich, son of Alexander III, describes in her memoirs the terrible events endured by her family after the revolution that took place.

In 1918, the Bolsheviks arrested the Grand Duke and then his son. A heavy fate awaited them. Olga desperately fought for her husband and son, hoping to save them, but to no avail she knocked on the doors of officials.

When everything was lost in Russia, the princess fled abroad and was reunited with her daughters.

In exile, Paley wrote memoirs filled with pain and hatred for the new regime in Russia
