Buddhist Teaching on Emptiness. Introduction to Madhyamaka

The book presents the treatise of the outstanding Indian thinker and Buddhist monk Chandrakirti, "Introduction to Madhyamaka," as well as comments on it by well-known Tibetan masters. The treatise is dedicated to discussing the basic paradigm of Buddhist doctrine — the teaching on emptiness (shunyata) — and is a fundamental text for the views of the Gelug school. The realization of emptiness is the hidden essence of the Mahayana path, and therefore, revealing the meaning of shunyata according to the views of Madhyamaka-Prasangika, Chandrakirti thoroughly and deeply discusses the practice of paramitas in the context of the five paths of the bodhisattva. The sixth paramita of wisdom (prajna), the attainment of which is associated with the direct realization of the emptiness of self and phenomena, is particularly elaborated on.
