Apadana. Volume II. Stories of the Elder Monks and Elder Nuns of the Buddha Gotama

«Apadana» — one of the books of Khuddaka-nikaya, which is part of the Pali canon. This is a canonical collection of autobiographical poems of theras (elder monks) and theris (elder nuns) who attained liberation during the time of the Buddha... Gotama. In these stories, the senior members of the Sangha of the Buddha Gotama recount in the first person their encounters with numerous Buddhas of the past, speak about the good and unwholesome deeds that guided them toward liberation or hindered it. Three stories are told by the Buddha Gotama himself.
This edition of Apadana is divided into two volumes. The first volume includes the stories told by the Buddha Gotama himself and the first part of the stories of the elder monks. The second volume includes the concluding part of the stories of the elder monks and the stories of the elder nuns of the Buddha Gotama.
