Creative Set - Bas-relief. Ship

With this creative set, you will create a bas-relief featuring a Ship. It will be an unusual gift for friends and loved ones and will add a special flair to any interior. How to work with plaster?   
You will need a comfortable workspace, preferably covered with newspaper or a tablecloth. It is better to work in an apron or old clothes to avoid getting dirty. 
Prepare a container to mix the plaster solution. This can be a disposable cup, a yogurt cup, or any other container that can be discarded later. Help the child mix and pour the solution into the mold, as well as extract the bas-relief after drying.
 
Attention! It is prohibited to pour liquid plaster down the drain!
1. Set the mold in a horizontal position.
2. Prepare the solution. For this, pour water into the prepared container and gradually pour in the plaster, constantly stirring with a spoon or stick. Mix the plaster to a consistency of liquid sour cream in a ratio of 3:2, i.e., 3 parts of plaster and 2 parts of water. Note that the plaster hardens quickly, within 10 minutes, so pour the prepared solution into the mold immediately.
3. Carefully pour the solution into the plastic mold. To avoid air pockets and ensure the solution fills the entire container evenly, shake the mold slightly. Remove excess solution to make the surface of the casting as smooth as possible.
4. Leave the workpiece to dry for about 40 minutes.
5. Take the casting out of the mold. If the bas-relief does not come out, gently tap the mold against your palm. The casting should be smooth and sturdy.
6. You can start painting the bas-relief 2-3 hours after casting. However, it is better to be patient and do this the next day, allowing the plaster to fully dry.
 
Important information:
• In case of plaster entering the eyes, rinse the eyes thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention immediately. 
• If plaster is swallowed, rinse the mouth thoroughly with water and drink fresh water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.
