The Three Musketeers (Les Trois Mousquetaires)

The novel by Alexandre Dumas (father) "The Three Musketeers" is one of the most celebrated works of world literature. Telling the adventures of the young Gascon d'Artagnan and his friends - the royal musketeers, the writer took quite some liberties... with the historical realities of the 17th century. But this did not prevent him from creating an inspired hymn to true male friendship and genuine bravery, thus forever winning the hearts of readers. This book presents the text of the first part of the novel, significantly shortened and adapted to the language proficiency level of high school seniors. The text is accompanied by page notes explaining the most difficult expressions and an alphabetical Franco-Russian dictionary. The book is intended for independent reading but can also be used in French language classes.
