1185 year. East

In 1965, the historian-easternist Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko (1934–2003), known in the academic community for his works on the history of Southeast Asia, defended his candidate dissertation on the topic "The Pagan State (11th–13th centuries)", and in 1981 — his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Buddhist Sangha and the State in Burma". Meanwhile, all Soviet teenagers (and many adults too!) were engrossed in the works of the famous nationwide writer of science fiction Kir Bulychev. And only a few knew that the scholar Igor Mozheiko and the science fiction writer Kir Bulychev are the same person.
"1185 year" is a vast historical panorama of Asia and Europe, with the year 1185 as the starting point — the year when the events of "The Tale of Igor's Campaign" take place. Moving along the Great Silk Road, the author outlines the subtle interconnections of trade and cultural contacts between countries and peoples, sometimes even unaware of each other’s existence...
