A graduate of the Faculty of Philology at Rostov University with a degree in "Russian Language and Literature", a modest deputy principal in a school, chairman of the district committee for physical culture and sports, a humble family man, utterly and forever in love with his wife, Andrei Chikatilo would have lived a quiet and inconspicuous life if he had not once succumbed to his passion.
For ten years he killed and raped women and children in Rostov and neighboring regions. Often these crimes went unsolved, but sometimes innocent people were jailed for the horrific murders. For a long time, investigators didn't even think that one person might be responsible for all these murders...
