«A book for all and for no one». A book that German soldiers read during World War I as often as the Bible. A book that was understood in different ways and as a result provoked both the most important... social changes and the most terrible geopolitical catastrophes of the 20th century.
Leo Tolstoy called Nietzsche «mad», while Janusz Korczak, the author of «The Philosophy of the Heart», wrote that «the very same Zarathustra» taught him something entirely different. Nevertheless, everything Nietzsche discusses in his philosophical novel — the critique of morality, the übermensch, eternal return, the death of gods, the concept of the will to power… — has had a profound influence on Foucault, Freud, Jung, Heidegger, Jaspers, Sartre, Bataille, Adorno, Deleuze, and many others, as well as outlining the contours of future post-structuralist philosophy.
